Colts Training Nights

CCC seperate the different age group cricket practice nights to optimise the coaches available, get best use of the nets facilities and reduce overcrowding on the back pitch area. The U13’s and U14’s have colts training sessions on Monday evening's, the U10/U11 and U12’s train on Tuesday evening's and U15’s train on Thursday evening.

CCC offer an open 'drop in' policy to encourage youth cricketers of any age or standard to join us at these training sessions so feel free to pop along as appropriate - both you and your child will be made to feel very welcome!

CCC Coaching Credentials

The Chessington Cricket Club colts section has been running for nearly 30 years and has evolved and developed considerably over this period while always having it's main aim to simply make cricket fun.

The club has never been in a stronger position and on top of achieving Clubmark accreditation, we have forged very close links with Surrey Cricket and the Royal Borough of Kingston Sports Development Teams. The club currenty has 8 ECB qaulified cricket coaches and two cricket welfare officers.

Cricket Fielding Positions

As an up and coming cricketer a fundamental part of understanding the game is to know where all the fielding positions are so you can move to the appropriate position as directed by your captain. Detailed below is a chart showing the most common fielding positions. The quicker you learn them the more complete player you will be!

The Laws of Cricket

A good understanding of the laws of the game is certainly no bad thing. Most of you will know the basics but do you really know what's a no ball and how to decide what is a wide and what isn't? The LBW law is one that all players of all ages should know as everyone at some point will have to do their bit and umpire for a while. A comprehensive list of the laws of cricket can be found HERE.
